Our Mission

To help students unlock their potential by identifying and addressing the foundational gaps that stand in the way of mathematical success.

About Neighborhood Educational Partners

NEP partners with schools, community organizations, and public agencies across New York City to provide high-impact math intervention for students in grades 6–12. We are a contracted vendor of New York City Public Schools, holding a 5-year MTAC in Math-Related Services Direct to Students.

Our work is rooted in a simple belief: many students who struggle in mathematics are capable of far more than their performance suggests. Too often, students are advanced through the educational system with unfinished learning and foundational skill gaps that make future success increasingly difficult. What may appear to be a lack of ability is frequently a lack of opportunity to master the skills that should have been learned years earlier.

NEP was founded to address this challenge. We specialize in helping students rebuild foundational mathematical understanding, develop algebra readiness, and gain the confidence needed to succeed in more advanced coursework. Our programs combine targeted intervention, small-group instruction, progress monitoring, and relationship-driven support to help students make meaningful academic gains.

Today, NEP partners with public schools, community-based organizations, juvenile detention facilities, and government agencies across all five boroughs of New York City. Our students include multilingual learners, Regents repeaters, students in temporary housing, justice-involved youth, and other young people who have historically faced significant barriers to academic success.

Whether supporting students during the school day, after school, on Saturdays, or through specialized intervention programs, our goal remains the same: to help students close foundational gaps, build mathematical confidence, and create new opportunities for future success.
